Learn how to clean your hairbrush the proper and easy way

Girls, don’t you just hate having to do small cleaning tasks like cleaning your hairbrushes. Regardless of how much I hated cleaning them, it is very important – brushing your hair with dirty hairbrushes can be very bad for your hair. When it comes to my hair I will do whatever it takes to maintain it healthy. I pay close attention to what products I use on it, how much I damage it using straighteners, etc. I have a strong hair routine that I love and it works great for my hair.
Just to prove to you how important hair is to me – I am one of those people that have hair extensions, and with that, I have twice more work. Not only do I have to think about my hair and how to treat it as well as maintain it healthy but I have to think about my hair extensions as well. It can be pretty stressful at times.
I recently learned about an amazing hack that is about hairbrushes and cleaning them – of course, I want to share it with you so that I can be as helpful as possible.
Why is cleaning your hairbrushes so important to maintaining healthy hair?
Can you imagine all of the build-up and dirt that is accumulated on the brush? From products build-up, hair, dead skin cells, dust, natural oils to all types of bacteria – not cleaning your hairbrush is unhygienic as well as dangerous for your hair.
How to clean it?
Let’s start with something easy – remove the hair that is trapped on the brush daily. It’s not hard and it won’t take more than 5 seconds. Just lift the hair out and throw it away.
Now that we have this out of the way let’s find out how to clean it – and these next tricks I will tell you to need to be done once a month.
– Method 1
Pick up a toothbrush, mix 1/2 cup of hot water, one tablespoon of shampoo, and 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Dip the toothbrush in the mixture and start cleaning the hairbrush with it.
Once you are done rinse the hairbrush and let it air-dry completely.
– Method 2
If your brush is a wooden one or it has natural bristles this cleaning method will work best. You need to be very gentle – all you need is a toothbrush dipped in a mixture of hot water and shampoo.
